COURT UP IS AN AUSTRALIA-WIDE ONLINE SERVICE

Support

Prior to the court hearing

e.g. whilst on bail or on remand. From the outset, Court Up  assists individuals to create a customised rehabilitation plan which targets problems that contribute to offending. This early intervention can help individuals to remain crime-free whilst on bail or awaiting their court hearing.

During the court hearing

Court Up attends court hearings via telecourt, as required. If requested, Court Up informs the judiciary about an individual’s progress in counselling either verbally or in writing. This helps the presiding Magistrate or Judge understand the motivation and commitment of an individual to address their offending behaviour and determine the court outcome.

Whilst serving a court sentence in the community

 i.e when on a Community Correction Order or Parole;

  • Often, such orders have conditions to satisfy, such as offending behaviour programs. Court Up provides individualized, one to one psych-educational interventions and counselling. Court Up works within the timeframes of a court Order.

  • Court Up provides intervention to address offending behaviour, even whilst an individual is in contravention of an Order. This can help the court in deciding  whether a further order could be considered.

  • Court Up can also assist individuals to apply to cancel or vary an Order/s, if an individual is unable to fulfil the Order obligations.

Post order completion

Court Up provides continued support after a court or parole order expires. It is critical for individuals to troubleshoot any challenging situations that arise, in their quest to maintain a crime-free lifestyle. This gives rise to employment and educational opportunities and family reunification prospects, when possible

Post prison release

Court Up provides transitional support to individuals that are stepping back into the  community after completion of their custodial term. Addressing institutionalisation, re-establishing family and  community connections, independent living and building self-efficacy are key components of post-release success.

Court Up offers support to individuals at any stage of their journey in the criminal justice system. This could be:
